A body brush from a Tokyo brushmaker, shaped like a tawashi: a tight bundle of sisal and hemp palm fiber twisted onto a cotton cord. In Japan the tawashi is a kitchen scrubber. This one is made for skin. Lather it with soap in the bath or shower and work it in slow circles, shoulders to heels. Or use it dry before you get in, for a firmer brush. Sisal has more grip than a sponge or a washcloth, and it’s what makes skin feel like it woke up. The loop is for hanging it to dry between uses.
